Politicians in Kenya have no qualms peddling lies. It is an article of faith for them to make claims they cannot substantiate and sleep sound after that. Kenyans are used to the lies told by leaders that we have developed some immunity. But it is not only politicians who lie, but also those who defend them in public forums like this newspaper.
Take the example of Joel Onyango writing in the Star on Tuesday 28th February 2012. Not only did he offer a feeble response on behalf of William Ruto, he concluded with the lie that I am 'a life member of KANU and should stop pretending to be clean.'
