Nigeria: NAHCON Reduces Pilgrims' Luggage to 40kg

The National Hajj Commissions of Nigeria (NAHCON) has reduced the pilgrims' luggage from 50kg to 40kg.

The Commissioner Operation of the Commission, Alhaji Abdullahi Mukhtar said this during stakeholders' workshop in Abuja yesterday. He said the decision becomes necessary in respect to the international standard of a total of 40kg luggage for travelers, which the Saudi authorities also make it standard policy.

"Like any other international trip; now the hosting government makes it a policy that based on International Civil Aviation standard (ICAO), all pilgrims now, their luggage will be 32kg (main luggage) and the hand luggage would be 8kg, combine together you have 40kg," he said.
