When the Ugandan minisetries, The Hostel, first premiered on NTV on February 23, 2011, scores of other productions had already found their way onto the market but only a few left a thing to be desired about the local film and TV industries.
Most of them eventually withered into oblivion after a few disappointing episodes. Now, as a team of young, talented and ambitious artistes sits all day (and at times night) plotting and scribbling the third season, they have a certain assurance that their names will be written in the books of history as being the brains behind The Hostel, currently one of the most popular TV shows in East Africa. The show's head writer and director, Kwezi Kaganda, cannot hide his astonishment at the success the show has garnered in such a short time.
