Palpable tension has taken over Oyede Community Isoko North Local Government area of Delta State following the killing of six persons by unidentified gunmen.
Reports said the killing has sparked off trouble for the community residents who have fled to neigbouring communities for fear of the unknown.
Sources said the victims, before they were killed, were said to have been drinking in a beer parlour when the gunmen came to attack. Others at the place fled to safety.
Oyeda community, expectedly, has been enmeshed in litany of troubles since youths of a neigbouring community took refuge in the town.
Residents who spoke on condition of anonymity have pointed accusing fingers at the visitors whom they said brought "evil" to them.
However, police authorities, through its spokesman, Mr. Charles Muka, confirmed that hundreds of law enforcement agents were deployed to the areas to maintain law and order, adding that several persons have also been arrested.
Leadership SUNDAY gathered that idle youths in various communities in Isoko North have allegedly cause mayhem in the recent times, resulting in the deaths of some persons, and sending others fleeing for fear of the unknown.
