Angola: Government Boosts Road Transport System

Luanda — The Angolan executive has been boosting, stimulating and bringing new dynamics into the urban road transport system, including the inter-province network.

This was said on Saturday, in Luanda, by the Angolan Transport minister, Augusto da Silva Tomás.

According to the government official, who was speaking in the inauguration of the first inter-province terminal of the TCUL public transport company, the executive has already distributed, in the whole country, over 5000 buses, thus guaranteeing 25.000 direct or indirect jobs.

Augusto da Silva Tomás also requested the board of TCUL to continue investing in the training and upgrading of its professionals, so as to secure good rendering of services.

"It is not enough just to buy new means. It is also necessary to pay special attention, above all, to the area of maintenance (of the buses) and provide training for those who will be using the means", Augusto Tomás explained.

With the inauguration of this inter-province terminal TCUL will now operate with new buses in the cities of Benguela, Sumbe, Ndalatando, Calulo, Huambo, Malange and Uíge.
