Nigeria: HIV/Aids Test Compulsory for Pregnant Women in Bauchi

Bauchi — Bauchi State government said pregnant women attending anti- natal care at public hospitals in the state must undergo a compulsory HIV/AIDS test.

The Chief of Staff to Governor Isa Yuguda, Yusuf Musa Gumli, disclosed this yesterday when he received members of the University of Jos Alumni Association, Bauchi Chapter in Bauchi.

He said obligatory test by pregnant women would help the state government to keep record of the transmission and carry out projections on how to tackle spread of the virus.
