Tanzania: Giants Back to Winning Ways

PREMIER League defending Champions Young Africans held their nerves to edge out African Lyon 1-0 and move within a point of second-placed Azam FC, while their rivals Simba opened a three-point lead at the summit after recording similar result at Polisi Dodoma.

A first-half goal by Yanga's attacking midfielder Kigi Makasi proved enough for the embattled Kostadin Papic's side in a low-key match played at the National Stadium in Dar es Salaam. The result means the title holders, who crashed to a 3-1 defeat to Azam FC, last Saturday, have now reached 40 points tally after playing 19 games, while Lyon remain 18th in the standing with 18 points from 19 games.
