Angola: Prison Services Pledges to Continue Training Inmates

Luanda — The Country's Prison Services has reaffirmed commitment to continue providing the inmates with professional training, accordingly with their skills aimed at putting an end to recidivism.

The intention was expressed Thursday by the director of that Department of the Interior Ministry, Commissioner Domingos Ferreira de Andrade, at the end of the talk on "Prison System and Human Rights in view of the Ombudsman,".

The event is part of celebration of the 33rd anniversary of the institution.

According to him, the challenges of his institution also aim at applying of correct policies of rehabilitation and social reintegration of prisoners citizens.

The Prison services controls some 19,700 inmates countrywide.
