Nigeria: Two Stabbed to Death in Katsina

katsina — The police in Katsina State have confirmed the discovery of two dead bodies in Jibia local government of the state as they make frantic efforts to track their killers.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP Shehu Muhammad, told newsmen in Katsina on Tuesday that the corpses were also identified.

"They identified to be the remains of one Malam Usman and one Malam Mai-Samari," he said.

Muhammed said the preliminary investigation showed that the deceased were stabbed with iron rod and dumped between Jibia motor-park and central market around 3 a.m. on Monday.

He said medical doctors at Jibia General Hospital confirmed to the police that nothing was removed from their bodies, and that they were stabbed to death.

The PPRO however said that no arrests had been made so far, noting that efforts were in top gear to track down the culprits.

He urged the people of the area to remain law-abiding and expose the criminals' hideout to security agents for their apprehension. NAN
