Tanzania: Arusha Court of Appeal Upholds Death Sentence

Moshi — THE Court of Appeal of Tanzania has upheld the death sentence of Abdi Adam alias Chakuu, from Rombo district, who was convicted of murder and sentenced to death by Justice Lawrence Mchome of the High Court of Tanzania, Moshi Registry in criminal session number 37 in 2006.

"Like the learned trial judge, we are satisfied that the prosecution proved the guilt of the appellant beyond all reasonable doubt. We find no merit in this appeal. The appeal is accordingly dismissed," concluded Justices of Appeal, Eusebia Munuo and William Mandia in their 12-page judgment obtained from the Moshi Registry on Sunday.
