The Senate has said that it will soon begin to sanction oil operators whose activities result in oil spills.
Speaking yesterday in Abuja at a two-day consultative forum on environment, ecology and climate change, the chairman of the Senate Committee on Environment and Ecology, Senator Bukola Saraki (PDP, Kwara Central), said the Senate would ensure the establishment of new institutions to preserve the environment from oil-related pollution.
