Namibia: Business Accused of Ignoring National Events

Windhoek — John Ntemwa, the Chairperson of the Caprivi Regional Youth Forum, has bemoaned the fact that Chinese and Muslim business people at Katima Mulilo have a tendency to ignore national events such as Independence Day that falls on 21 March of each year and open for business "24/7".

"For the past five years that I have been in this region celebrating Independence Day, only a few businessmen are represented by their local workers at the Independence Stadium to celebrate the day when Namibia was born," he told New Era on the verge of the 22nd anniversary of independence.
