Nigeria: Edo PDP, NLC in Verbal Warfare Over Planned Rally for Oshiomhole

Benin — Edo State Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and the leadership of Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, yesterday, engaged in a war of words over the planned rally scheduled for today in Benin City, by the national leadership of NLC, in support of the re-election bid of Governor Adams Oshiomhole.

Addressing newsmen in Benin City, state Publicity Secretary of PDP, Mr. Matthew Uroghide, who said it would be illegal for NLC to use its apparatus to endorse Oshiomhole, alleged that workers in the state had been coerced by the state government using the leadership of NLC and Trade Union Congress, TUC, to organise the rally.
