Nigeria: Plight of Military Pensioners

March 2012 marks twenty months since the increase in the pay of military pensioners was announced in line with the constitution of our country, Nigeria.

Among other provisions, Nigeria is required to increase pension emoluments every time there is general wage increase for workers in the country. Even the deaf, the dumb and the blind, who are handicapped to access electronic or print media, are fully aware that the Federal Government of Nigeria approved and commenced payment of new salary rates for workers effective from July 1, 2010.
