Sudan: Increasing Rates of Robbery in Abu Shouk Camp

Abu Shouk, — Displaced residents of Abu Shouk camp complained of the increasing rates of theft by militants inside the camp.

'Robbery is becoming a dangerous regular phenomenon, militants steal everything inside homes to mobiles and change on the streets', said a source to Radio Dabanga.

Residents wonder whether the government is trying to spread fear and chaos to dismantle the camps and force displaced people to leave, added the source.

He appealed to UN Mission in Darfur to immediately provide real protection with patrols around the clock inside the camp to end the threats by armed unknown miltias.
