The President of the University of Liberia (UL), Dr. Emmet Dennis, has described Lonestar Cell MTN as a giant in telecommunications industry in the country.
According to Dr. Dennis, the company has supported importance ventures in the country, noting, it buttresses the developmental agenda of the country.
Dr. Dennis made these comments Friday, March 23, 2012 at program making the formal launch of the Miss UL Pageant 2011/2012 edition.
The formal launch of the Miss UL Pageant 2011/2012 edition was held at the main campus of the UL on Capitol Hill, Monrovia.
Lonestar Cell MTN is the major sponsor of the Pageant.
Speaking further, Dr. Dennis said the company has also supported several other undertakings at the UL.
He Dennis said the pageant will not be taken lightly by the UL's administration.
He pointed out that this year's edition of the pageant will be second to none with the strong support of Lonestar Cell MTN.
Hear Dr. Dennis: "The support of Lonestar Cell MTN is a welcoming news to the development process of this country. We are wedding the glass bottles from out and the diamonds are becoming to show. In other words, Liberia is heading somewhere to development. We want to thank everyone who have so far contributed to the development process of this country like Lonestar Cell MTN," he emphasized.
Also speaking at the occasion, the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) of Lonestar Cell MTN, Mr. Clement Ofori Asante said, the support of Lonestar to the Miss UL Pageant is part of its commitment to exercising its corporate social responsibility to the people of Liberia.
Mr. Asante noted that the company stands ready and committed to supporting the development initiatives of the country.
He described the company as the best company in diverged communications in the country.
"Lonestar Cell MTN is the best company in diverged communications. We have the widest network and widest coverage throughout Liberia, this is no doubt," he added.
For his part, the President of the UL Students Union, (ULSU), Mr. Johnny White, lauded the company for supporting the school's initiative.
He said this is the first of its kind for the school's Pageant to be supported by such major company.
