Nigeria: Hotel Catches Fire at Jabi

Few persons were said to be injured following a fire incident that occurred in the early hours of Sunday at Alexis Hotel in Jabi, Abuja.

A staff of the hotel said the fire injured some persons as they were trying to escape from the building.

According to him, the fire emanated from the hotel's control room and might have been caused by a transformer, which supplies electricity to the hotel and its environs.

He said officials of the Federal Fire Services arrived the hotel premises on time to put out the fire.

When our reporter visited the scene Sunday afternoon, officials of the place declined to comment on the incident.
