Kenya: Spectacular Night of Beijing

Monday night was one of a kind for Chinese people living in Kenya as they enjoyed a magnificent art performance titled The Night of Beijing at the KICC.

Sponsored by Beijing Municipal People's Government, Embassy of P.R. China in Kenya and the Ministry of State for National Heritage and Culture of Kenya, it was a success.

KICC's Tsavo Ballroom was filled to capacity with Beijing dignitaries among them the Chinese Ambassador Liu Guang with the Kenyan Government well represented by the Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka, Heritage Minister Willian Ole Ntimama and Communication PS Bitange Ndemo. The performers included art troupes, acrobatics and Chinese songs and dances.

Speaking before the performance, Ntimama thanked the Chinese Embassy for "giving us something we appreciate," adding that it opened a new page in furthering relationship between the two countries. The show which lasted three hours left revellers yearning for more.
