The national cricket team will play three international friendlies this weekend as part of it's preparation for next month's ICC Africa Twenty20 Division 3 competition in Johannesburg, South Africa.
The contingent of 16 players and two officials left on Thursday evening for Kampala and had a light training session yesterday afternoon at Kyambogo oval.
Rwanda will play Uganda A (national team' second string side) Saturday morning before taking on a select side from different clubs in Kampala in the afternoon.
The tourists will wind up their brief tour with a clash against the Uganda national team on Sunday morning at Lugogo cricket oval.
Team Manager Eddie Balaba told Times Sport yesterday that the friendlies will give coach Collin Siller Miler a good view on the status of the team ahead of the Africa Div.3.
"The friendlies will help us look at the status of team and plan accordingly. Unfortunately some players in the national team will not make the trip because of work commitments," Balaba said yesterday.
Uganda may have finished 14 out of 16 sides in the recent T20 World Cup qualifiers, ahead of Denmark and Oman but neighbours, Rwanda are willing to learn something from their more experienced counterparts.
According to Uganda Cricket Association (UCA) Martin Ondeko, some U-19 players will be included in two of the teams.
Meanwhile, only one player from the team that took part in the Dubai ICC T20 world cup qualifiers' Brian Masaba will play against Rwanda.
