Angola: Sable Antelope Conservation Needs U.S.$. Six Million

Luanda — The Environment Minister, Maria de Fátima Jardim, requested on Sunday in Luanda USD six million for the reinforcement of actios linked to the conservation project of the sable antelope for the coming two years.

With speacial participation of Kissama Foundation, Catholic University and support of the Oil firms of Sonangol and ESSO, among other public and private companies, the official urged everyone's commitment to the conservation of sable antelope.

The minister said so on Sunday during "Espaço Publico" programme of the Angolan Public Television (TPA).

"We are trying have other partners and this why we are appealing for the solidarity of everyone so that this animal may reproduce more and more both in Cangandala park and in Luando national reserve", said the minister.

Still with low reproduction level in Cangandala park, about 19 animals are controlled there.
