Host communities living within a five-kilometre radius from the various power plants under the National Integrated Power Projects (NIPP) would be provided with free electricity supply as part of the efforts to reduce restiveness and improve the living conditions of the communities.
Communities that host the existing power plants in the country, including the 1,320megawatts capacity Egbin Power Station in Lagos do not have free power supply.
