East Africa: EAC to Hold Investment Forum in Dubai

Arusha — East African Community (EAC) partner states should start identifying investment opportunities that they will market to the investors in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the secretary general has said.

Dr. Richard Sezibera said EAC is organizing an investment forum to be held in the UAE in October this year. Sezibera was meeting the Director, External Relations of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr Hassan Al Hashemi in Arusha recently.

Hashemi said many business people in Dubai had expressed interest in investing in the region, because it was becoming an attractive destination for investment.

"EAC bloc is important in business and politically integrated and more aligned to the UAE," Hashemi said. "UAE and the world over are becoming interested in the possibilities the EAC region has to offer."
