Nigeria: PDP Denies APGA's Claim of Violence in Anambra South Rerun

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Anambra State has denied claims by the All Progressives Grand Alliance Party (APGA) that violence marred the Anambra South senatorial rerun Polls held recently.

The Director General of Ikukuoma Campaign Organisation, Engr Fabian Ozoigbo, the political machinery of Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu, in a press briefing, yesterday, said that the election was free and fair as attested to by observers.

Ozoigbo stated that the election was widely adjudged smooth, free, fair, and peaceful and above board in every ramification, except in Ihiala Local Government Area, the strong hold of APGA candidate, Chief Chuma Nzeribe, where he noted that violence was recorded.

He stated that the insinuations, spurious claims and publications were the handiwork of some garrulous political jobbers who have been dissipating energy trying to cast negative aspersions on the PDP's resounding victory in the rerun election.
