Nigeria: JTF Uncovers Bomb-Laden Vehicle in Kano

Kano — The Joint Task Force in Kano yesterday found an abandoned vehicle laden with explosives in the metropolis along Zaria Road.

JTF spokesman Lieutenant Ikedichi Iweha, who confirmed the discovery, said security operatives were working to detonate the explosives.

He said the vehicle was abandoned along the Zaria road bypass.

Iweha, who spoke in a radio broadcast, urged residents not to panic, saying the detonation would be handled with care in order not to cause any problem.

Military personnel with armoured carriers were seen yesterday patrolling the metropolis as residents remained indoors in some parts of the city.

Efforts to reach the army spokesman on phone for details failed.
