The Ekiti State government has unfolded plans to widen the scope of solid mineral development through partnership with experts across the globe.
The state's Commissioner for Commerce, Industry and Cooperatives, Otunba Reim Bodunrin, who spoke at an inaugural meeting with staff of Fountain Solid Minerals Development Company, Ado-Ekiti, said arrangements have been concluded to reinvigorate the outfit to compete favourably with similar bodies on the continent.
He urged the staff to work with the highest ethical standards to make the company become a veritable source of revenue for the state government.
Bodunrin also enjoined staff of the company to adequately equip themselves with modern techniques, stressing that the company was established to make profit.
He urged management of the company to bring its expertise to bear by setting goals that would be achievable in the shortest time possible.
The Fountain Solid Minerals Development Company was established about a year ago with the aim of harnessing metallic and non metallic minerals such as columbite, tantalite, iron ore, marble and granite, among others.
