I often marvel at the ingenuity of Zimbabwean artists who create world-class art on paultry means in a country without any major art-supply shops or art supplies industry.
Art tools are as basic as the alphabet for artists. Whilst we ululate with pride and blow our horns to the greatness and determination of a few individual artists who have made an impact on the international art world, we need to put our house in order and develop the 'tools of the trade' that sustain our cultural heritage.
