Maputo — The Mozambican government on Friday strongly condemned the military coup in Guinea-Bissau, which has called into question the second round of that country's presidential election.
A press release from the Foreign Ministry noted that the coup took place just a day before the start of the campaign for the second round of the election, and described it as "a serious setback for the strengthening of democratic institutions in Guinea-Bissau".
