Nigeria: Tax Remittances - NECA Vows to Challenge Consultant's Appointment

The Nigeria Employers Consultative Association (NECA) has said it would go to court to challenge the appointment of a Consultant by House of Representatives Committee on Finance to audit and inspect the books of private sector companies.

The House Committee had on April 2, 2012 placed an advertorial announcing the appointment of Olusola Adekanola to carry out audit investigation on tax matters in about 180 companies in the private sector for the period 2006 to 2011, in what it tagged the first phase of the exercise. The notice equally directed the listed Companies to open their doors and cooperate with the Consultants.
