The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has defended the consensus option through which the national chairman of the party, Dr. Bamanga Tukur and the current members of the national working committee (NWC) emerged.
The defense is in response to the criticisms of the process by former military President Ibrahim Babangida who in an interview with the VOA Hausa Service, stated that the consensus that produced Alhaji Bamanga Tukur as PDP national chairman was undemocratic, which was later emphasized by the media aide to the former military president, Kasim Afegbua.
