Tanzania: Rice Producers Want Market Information Relayed to Farmers

FARMERS and stakeholders in rice production have raised their concern on food security saying foreigners enter the country and purchase rice directly from farmers without following proper channels.

"The government ought to take immediate action to ensure farmers have a common market, to control prices," said Mr Erastus Mkojera, an Agricultural Trainer with Kilimanjaro Agricultural Training Centre (KATC).
