Ethiopia: Wheat Flour Milling Plant Readied for Service

Ambo — A wheat flour milling plant constructed in Ambo Town of Oromia State with 21 million Birr has been readied for service, the Ambo Farmers' Cooperatives Union said.

Union Board Chairperson, Tirfesa Negasa told ENA on Tuesday that the plant has capacity to produce over 420 quintals wheat flour a day.

The chairperson said the plant creates market for wheat growing farmers in the areas.

The plant has created 120 permanent and temporary jobs.

Established with 70,000 Birr capital 14 years before, the Union has over 41 million Birr capital at present, he said.

The Union has 60,000 members organized in 62 associations in 15 woredas of the zone.
