The Environment Management Agency has warned granite mining companies in Mutoko to renew their Environment Impact Assessment operating licences or risk closure. The warning was issued last Friday during a media tour of the granite mining area facilitated by the EMA Mashonaland East provincial office.
It emerged during the tour, whose theme was "Effects of granite mining on the environment", that the companies last renewed the EIA licences in 2010.
