The Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ali Akbar Salehi, will visit Tunisia for a two-day official visit on April 23rd and 24th heading a large delegation according to a communiqué released by the Tunisian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
"The visit is an opportunity to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral relations and exchange views on regional and international issues of common interest," the Iranian Foreign Ministry explained in an announcement on Saturday.
The Iranian Foreign minister will meet with his Tunisian counterpart Rafik Abdessalam, to discuss bilateral relations between Tunisia and Iran. Meetings with other Tunisian officials are also expected during the visit.
According to Press TV, the top diplomat stated that the two sides would exchange views on the latest developments in the region and added that Iran has good economic and trade relations with Tunisia as a Muslim country.
Salehi described the prospects of future ties between Tunis and Tehran as "bright and constructive."
