The International Labor Organization (ILO) signed two agreements with Tunisia in Cairo, Egypt, on Thursday as a part of a joint plan to promote youth employment and social dialogue in Tunisia.
According to a press release issued by the ILO, Tunisian Minister of Social Affairs Khalil Ezzaouia and ILO's Regional Director for Africa Charles Dan agreed on a project, called "Promoting Social Dialogue and Strengthening Labor Governance in Tunisia," which is funded by Norway.
The program aims to enhance social dialogue and implement international labor standards in Tunisian labor legislation. Major steps of the program include improving the capacity of government officials as well as workers' and employers' organizations at the regional level.
Tunisian Minister of Training and Employment Abdel Wahab Maatar and Dan signed the second agreement, which is funded by Spain. The agreement's title is "Promoting Decent Employment for Youth in Tunisia."
