Gambia: Fraud Squad Officer Testifies in False Information Trial

Demba S Jammeh, a Police officer attached to the fraud squad office at the Banjul Police Headquarters, yesterday testified in the ongoing alleged false information trial involving former alkalo of Sinchu Jenum, Alhagie Ismaila Jallow.

Jammeh testified that he can recognize the accused and also knew him as well. He said in January 2012 while he was at the office of the fraud squad, they received directives from the office of the Inspector General of Police concerning a letter emanating from the office of the President directing the office of the IGP to investigate the petition letter written by the accused person and send to the office of the President.
