Tanzania: Speaker Rejects State's Resolutions to Jairo Probe

Dodoma — NATIONAL Assembly Speaker Ms Anne Makinda has rejected the resolutions made by the government on a parliamentary select committee picked to probe into the conduct of former Energy and Minerals Permanent Secretary, Mr David Jairo, as "they did not meet expectations".

She told the House here on Monday that she has rejected the resolutions after realising that they would not meet the expectations of the House. "I have looked at the government's resolutions, which were to be presented in this House, but I found out that our expectations would not be met in the report and I have returned it to the government for further improvements," she said.
