Windhoek — Okahandja will hold its fourth annual Okahandja Tourism and Trade Expo, starting next week Thursday.
The Municipality of Okahandja said the expo creates a sense of awareness and exposure regarding its potential in tourism, hospitality and trade possibilities.
It further aims to create a platform where local entrepreneurs small and big, as well as established businesses can present their products, goods and services to the public and the country at large.
It is also an opportunity to expose tourism possibilities surrounding Okahandja such as the Von Bach Dam (now known as Tungeni Africa Resort); the Gross Barmen Hot Springs, game and trophy hunting farms; bed and breakfast facilities, guesthouses and cultural villages and much more.
There will be entertainment for young and old, provided by well-known and local artists. Local beauties of the town will have an opportunity to compete for the title of Miss Okahandja Expo 2012 on Friday night at the Okahandja Park Sports Stadium.
A gala dinner is slated for April 27, 2012 at the Okahandja Country Hotel. The Mayor of Okahandja Dawid !Uri â-...hob will open the event.
According to the town council, preparations for the expo are in full swing and many companies and individuals have already bought exhibition stalls.
The expo will take place during May 3-6, 2012 at the Okahandja Park Sports Stadium.
