JUBILATION, pomp and colour dominated at the 48th Union anniversary celebrations in Dar es Salaam on Thursday as thousands braved the morning drizzle and later the scorching sun to turn out at the Uhuru Stadium for the occasion.
People from all walks life, old and young - some hardly seven-years-old - started arriving at the stadium as early as 6:30am in order to get seats at good positions. Resplendent in a three-button black suit, white shirt and red stripped tie, President Jakaya Kikwete arrived at the historic stadium at 10.11 am.
