Egypt: Sharm El-Sheikh to Host Non-Aligned Movement Foreign Ministers Meetings in May

The Red Sea Resort city of Sharm El-Sheikh will host meetings of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) foreign ministers, due to be held on May 9-10.

The movement includes 120 member states as well as 15 countries participating in the meetings in their capacity as monitors and 17 regional and international organizations with Egypt presiding over the movement's current session.

Assistant Foreign Minister for NAM Affairs and International Cooperation Ambassador Amr Ramadan said in statements on Friday 27/04/2012 that Egypt attaches great importance to the movement as it represents the largest international gathering after the United Nations.

Ramadan added that the movement coordinates between member states concerning international topics, including the situation in Syria and Iraq and the crisis between Sudan and South Sudan as well as the reform of the UN.
