Nigeria: Dankwambo Assures University Community of Security

Gov. Ibrahim Dankwambo of GombeState has assured the GombeStateUniversity community of adequate security.

Dankwambo gave the assurance on Friday in Gombe, while reacting to Thursday's bomb blast at the SenateBuilding of the university.

He pledged his administration's commitment toward ensuring the safety of the people's lives in the state.

Dankwambo noted that the bomb blast affected only the Office of the Bursar and the Office of the Vice-Chancellor and not the entire institution.

He said that investigations into the incident had commenced, adding, however, that no one had claimed responsibility of the blast.

He, however, appealed to the university community to remain peaceful and law-abiding. (NAN)
