Africa: Ambassador Battle Talks to French Journalists About Mali, Guinea-Bissau, Sudan, and South Sudan

Paris — On April 26, 2012 U.S. Mission to the African Union (USAU) Ambassador Michael Battle spoke with French journalists during his visit to Paris to participate in the African Partnership Forum.

The Ambassador discussed U.S. engagement with the African Union, the crisis between Sudan and South Sudan, and the situations in Mali and Guinea-Bissau following the destabilizing coups in both countries. The media roundtable, hosted by Africa Regional Services (ARS), was attended by journalists from Jeune Afrique, The Africa Report, Le Figaro, and Slate Afrique.

In a separate interview, the Ambassador spoke with a representative from Radio France Internationale (RFI) on U.S. - AU cooperation in conflict resolution and the promotion of democracy and good governance throughout Africa.
