The corporate class seems to be reinventing the sleazy kimansulo of yesteryears in form of bikini and lingerie parties. Just two weeks after Elyt Magazine successfully held their second version of the Bahamas nite at Club Silk, fans will now be trooping down to Bukoto-based Cayenne bar and lounge, which has come up with its own 'Bikini Hangover' party. As a way of trying to beat the Bahamas nite, Cayenne's management has lined up models from Rwanda and Kenya to grace the night with their fine bodies. The first Bikini Hangover is scheduled for May 17.
Bobi Wine lights up Guntu party
At Saturday's Coca-Cola Guntu party held at Steak Out bar along Lumumba avenue, revellers who prefer beer had to exchange the bitter ones for cold cokes, for a chance to walk away with the various goodies that were being given out. However, the real fun came when the emcee announced that ghetto president Bobi Wine was hitting the stage. When Bobi got onto stage, the place went crazy. He performed his latest single By Far and going by the reception he received, his face-off with Bebe Cool this Friday is bound to create fireworks.
Bebe now shuns Chameleone
"Those boys are very forgetful and I am tired of reminding them that I am the reason they exist musically; they always make me their punching bag because I was raised up in a family that respects others," Bebe Cool explains why he shunned an invitation to Club Guvnor where Jose Chameleone was launching his Chameleone phone.
But even in his absence, he was not spared as he was the centre of attacks from both Chameleone and Bobi Wine. Chameleone gave Bebe a complimentary yellow phone, because of his association with NRM and then gave Bobi a blue one mbu for his closeness to Mengo. Chameleone asked Bobi to deliver Bebe's phone, but Bobi answered: "I can't take it to him, but let his brother Ssegawa [John] deliver it for me."
Bebe and Bobi are facing off at Kyadondo Rugby grounds this Friday in a show dubbed Battle of the Champions and on stage they will be separated by razor wire as their beef seems to have grown stronger.
And 1 stars for YMCA
If you missed watching them last year, then buckle up because the And 1 crew, the freestyle basketballing Americans, will be back in town this weekend to take on team Uganda like they memorably did last year. Coca-Cola, under their basketball-promoting brand Sprite, confirmed that the boys will be at YMCA for the Sprite's And 1 on May 5. We can't wait, for the crossovers and monster dunks.
