This came in a televised news conference held by the SCAF to address the current violent events in Cairo's Abbassiya district and around the headquarters of the Defense Ministry.
SCAF member Major General Mohamed el-Assar said that Egypt is living through one of the most important and dangerous moments of its modern history.
Egypt is laying down the foundations of a new stage of its history by establishing the state institutions on new bases that meet the aspirations of the people and fulfill the goals of the January 25th Revolution, he said.
"This hard time requires us all to stand together and close our ranks and understand correctly the delicate nature of the current phase. We need to shun differences to ensure our stable and secure transfer to the 'second republic'" he also said.
