Angola: Journalists Told to Be Impartial

Ndalatando — The governor of northern Kwanza Norte province, Henrique Andre Junior, Thursday in Ndalatando advised journalists to abide by a journalism based on free, objective, balanced attitude and promote unity and progress in the country.

The governor was speaking at the main national event marking the International Press Freedom Day, May 3, having told the media to continue being a direct promoter in building an Angola where all citizens share the cultural, technical and scientific plans.

On the other hand, the official stressed the role played by the local media organs in promotion an Angolan society that more and more ensures the guarantees of freedom, tolerance and joint commitment to the preservation of peace.

The national main event on the International Press Freedom Day was held in Ndalatando, Kwanza Norte, presided over by the Media minister, Carolina Cerqueira.

The event included a lecture entitled "The new voices and freedom of the media help transform societies" presented by journalist Amilcar Xavier.
