Gambia: Lady in Court for 'Negligent Driving'

One Therese Bass was on Monday 30th April arraigned at the Brikama magistrate court presided over by Magistrate Frank Agim for rash and negligent act causing death contrary to the Laws of The Gambia.

The particulars of the offence stated that on or about 29th April 2012 at Abuko Sanchaba village Kombo North of the West Coast Region of the Republic of The Gambia, the accused person drove a motor vehicle with registration number BJL 2197 G in a rash or negligent manner thereby committed an offence.

When the charge was read to the accused person, she pleaded not guilty. However magistrate Agim granted her bail in the sum of D7, 000 with two Gambian sureties.The case was adjourned to 16th May 2012. Sgt 413 Sanyang stood for the I.G.P.
