Delta State Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan at the weekend justified the N7.4 billion earmarked for a hill demolition to get the Asaba International Airport working.
A statement by Mr Paul Odili, Special Assistant to Uduaghan on Print Media, quoted the governor as saying that the topography of the area where the airport is located, requires intense levelling, just as the river valley in the area needs to be filled up to secure approval for big aircraft operations from the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA).
