Nigeria: Kano to Establish Three More Varsities

Kano — Kano State government is planning to establish three more universities in the state before the end of 2012 in order to curb difficulties faced by indigenes of the state while seeking admission in other universities across the country, Secretary to the Kano State Government, Dr. Rabi'u Suleiman Bichi, has disclosed.

Dr. Bichi made the disclosure during the investiture of the newly elected executive members of the Kano State chapter of Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors.

A statement by chief press secretary to Kano SSG office Kabiru Tijjani Abubakar Dandago said about 18,000 students pass out of secondary schools in the state each year to seek for placements in various higher institutions in the country.
