The Association of Gambian Comedians (AGC) recently presented a certificate of honour and acceptance to the president of the Gambia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) Bai Matarr Drammeh as their godfather.The presentation ceremony was held at Bai Mattar's office at the GCCI along Kairaba Avenue.
Speaking at the ceremony, Samuel Leigh, the president of the Association disclosed that it was formed in 2010 by a group of young people with the aim of entertaining and to showcase their talent to the general public. He added that they have been organising series of shows. Leigh also described Bai Matarr Drammegh as a role model, saying that this is why they presented him with the certificate.
For his part, Bai Matarr Drammeh expressed his gratitude for being chosen as the godfather of the Association describing it as a great honour. He also urged the members of the Association to work closely to achieve their objectives in the interest of the people. Gibril Jallow, the secretary of the Association and Abdou Gaye, a member also spoke at the occasion.
