Lagos — The National Industrial Court, Lagos, has adjourned till June 16, for hearing in the suit by the 788 sacked Lagos doctors, who are challenging the non-implementation of the consolidated medical salary, CONMESS, by the Lagos State Government.

The strike had left many Lagosians groaning, as many families had to evacuate their loved ones from public hospitals to private ones, while those who cannot afford the high cost of private hospitals, resign to fate.

The doctors, whose action had crippled state hospitals, with its attendants consequences, are praying the court to "a declare that the refusal of Lagos Government to completely implement CONMESS scale in their favour constitutes a violent breach of the agreement reached between the defendants and the claimants on the full implementation of CONMESS and is, therefore, unlawful, unconstitutional, null and void and constitutes unfair labour practice."
