A 19-year-old woman who gave birth to triplets at Bondo district hospital claims clinical officers failed to detect that she was carrying triplets. Beryl Atieno claimed that she was told that she was carrying one baby during her routine prenatal care. Bondo district hospital Medical Superintendent Dr David Omondi said the first-time mother gave birth to two girls and one boy.
He said the infants who were delivered in a stable condition weighed 2kg and 1.6kg for the girls, and 1.4kg for the boy respectively. The infants are being nursed in incubators at the facility.
